Abstract

One of the most important constraints of poultry production is disease. Among the major important diseases are: viral, fungal, bacterial and parasitic infections. A cross sectional survey was carried out in small-scale poultry farmers in Kisii County, Kenya to establish the common diseases and their management practices. A structured and semi-structured questionnaire was administered to 400 households. Sampled households were obtained from a target population of 247,050 using a stratified random sampling technique.
